Celtaxsys was founded in 2005 with a focus on chemokine-mediated immune cell migration. Originally organized around technology licensed from the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Celtaxsys has grown beyond this license to develop a unique discovery platform that has identified and characterized novel mechanisms of immune cell migration that are unrelated to chemokines themselves. Celtaxsys is defining new biology in the area of immune cell chemotaxis.
At present, Celtaxsys owns all if its intellectual property and has established a portfolio of more than 40 chemical and biological agents that can induce cell-type specific chemotaxis.
Celtaxsys was incorporated in 2005 in Georgia and is based in the Advanced Technology and Development Center (ATDC) of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Celtaxsys will soon be re-incorporated in Delaware and presently has 10 employees, eight of which are involved in pre-clinical discovery research and development. The senior management team has exceptional scientific and financial expertise and is supported by a large group of drug development professionals on both the Scientific Advisory Board and the Celtaxsys Board of Directors.
